Augmented reality African nature experience
Experience the Nature’s Best Photography Africa photographic exhibition at Iziko Museums of South Africa like never before!
Iziko Museums of South Africa and Nature’s Best Photography Africa, sponsored by NMPi South Africa, bring visitors an exciting augmented reality (AR) experience as part of this years ‘winners’ exhibition.
Visitors to the exhibition must download the Zapper augmented reality application on their smart phones. This will allow them to unlock the experience on their digital devices. The Zapper App will also activate an ‘augmented audio guide’ for the exhibition when visitors scan special AP codes throughout the exhibit.
Developed by The Burping Turtle, the unique AR experience puts visitors in the position to access information about where the photo was taken and how the photographer managed to take the shot. The use of this technology enhances the visitor experience and places Iziko at the forefront of innovative projects.
‘Selfie’ kings and queens also stand a chance to win a catalogue by entering their AR selfie in an online promotion using the hashtag #NBPAfrica2018. Users will pose with the AR filter, snap a pic and share it on social media to stand a chance to win an exquisite coffee table book showcasing this year’s winning images!
Nature’s Best Photography Africa is a South African non-profit entity that aims to foster a love for and desire to protect the natural resources of Africa amongst all segments of our population through photography and education.
This year’s winners’ exhibition features over 100 award-winning photographs that were taken in Africa by global photographers. It and runs at the Iziko South African Museum until 4 March 2018.
