Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, which one is the People’s team?

Date:

The game between the two Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the Soccer City stadium, has brought together fans from across all the provinces. Soccer bring people together and has the power to break all the barriers.”Fans sit and sing together as their teams are juggling it out in the field”.

The first half of the game was dominated by Orlando Pirates with ball possession rated at 71% whilst Kaizer Chiefs was 29% behind their rivals.

Pirates remain a single point ahead of their bitter rivals after nine matches played in the race of domestic honours. Even though the Bucanneers had goal advantage they did not convert the opportunity into tangible scores.

In the Second half the ball possession changed suddenly with Kaizer Chiefs equalizing their opponents at all 50% of ball possession. On the 72nd minutes Bernard Morrison used his hand to score the ball- and as a result that earned him a “yellow card.”

CHANCE! Qalinge, who is once again in the thick of things, pulls the trigger just outside the box and brings Khune into the game as the Bafana Bafana number one punches the ball away and saves the rebound as well.

Matlaba tries his luck from range but can’t find the target. Great chance for Parker to score but his header takes a deflection for a corner

The match ends in a goalless draw at Soccer City with Thabo Qalinge been regarded as “Man of the Match”.
