Johannesburg – Veteran SABC broadcast journalist Peter Ndoro has taken a break from his (presenting) job after he mistakenly declared on national TV that President Cyril Ramaphosa had died instead of Zimbabwe’s opposition MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Peter Ndoro is not a stranger in on-air mistakes following his previous blunder in January, when he announced that IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi had died instead of former Bophuthatswana leader Lucas Manyane Mangope.
It appears that the broadcaster (SABC) does not/did not consider the health of its presenter until Peter Ndoro got fatiqued on-air. One would expect the SABC to consider that working for long hours by their presenters is not healthy and will always lead to (human errors) mistakes.
The broadcaster’s Spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago said,”we take the matter in a very serious light, as it is not only embarrassing, but could potentially affect those involved negatively”.
